About

History

The club was established in 1987. We started out with a modular layout, which was set up in various available locations. In the early 1990's we found a home in a downtown Grand Forks Mall.

That ended with the flood of 1997. After the flood the club was awarded a $10,000 grant to relocate. Additional donations allowed the purchase of two buildings and their relocation to the present location on the ground of Heritage Village in East Grand Forks. This building was named Casey Holt Building, after the son of a club member who had died in a tragic accident.

The current 26 by 58 building is a replica of a train station. We have removed the old layout and are working every week on a new, much larger two deck layout. We are lucky to have the facility we have, and enjoy visitors and are always looking for new members. You can visit on the first or third Saturday of the month between 10 AM and 2 PM. If those times don't work for you, contact us through Facebook messenger or the contact form on our website to arrange a different time.

Who we are

We are a group of local model railroaders. We have members from Grand Forks, ND, East Grand Forks and Crookston, MN and the surrounding rural areas. We have members ranging from college age to senior citizens. While many of us have home layouts as well, we enjoy getting together at the club to work on the layout, run trains, and socialize.
